    Ballet Attire: Studio Requirements

Correct ballet attire is compulsory for all Ballet On The Move classes. It supports discipline, allows the teacher to observe correct alignment and technique, helps prevent injury, and promotes a unified, professional studio environment.

Dancers are required to attend all ballet classes dressed as follows:

    Ages 3–5:

    • Ballet leotard
    • Ballet skirt

    Ages 5 and older:

    • Ballet leotard

    All age groups:

    • Ballet pink long stockings
    • Ballet leather shoes
    • Hair neatly styled in a ballet bun

No alternative leotards or ballet attire are permitted. This policy ensures uniformity as a school and enables the teacher to work effectively with each dancer's body to promote safe and correct technique.

    Purchasing Ballet Attire

Ballet attire must be purchased through Ballet On The Move, where the studio will place an order with Ballet Box on your behalf. Should you prefer to purchase the attire yourself, you are welcome to visit Ballet Box directly. Please inform them that your child is a dancer at Ballet On The Move (BOTM), and they will assist you with the correct studio-approved requirements.

    Health & Safety

Please do not send your child to class if they:

    • • Have had a fever in the last 24 hours (must be fever-free for 24 hours without medication)
    • • Are vomiting or have diarrhea
    • • Have an unexplained rash
    • • Have head lice
    • • Have eye infections or discharge
    • • Have thick yellow or green nasal discharge
    • • Are unusually lethargic or unwell
    • • Have a persistent cough

This is to protect the health and wellbeing of all dancers and staff.

    School Holidays & Public Holidays

    • • Ballet On The Move is closed during school holidays and public holidays.
    • • Classes will not take place on long weekends, including Saturdays that fall on public holiday weekends.
    • • Term-based fees remain payable during school holidays, as fees are structured per term and not per lesson.
    • • Holiday dates will be communicated in advance.

We kindly request that all families adhere strictly to Ballet On The Move's policies and studio rules to ensure a respectful, safe, and inspiring environment for all dancers.

Most importantly — enjoy the journey and celebrate your child's growth through dance.

    Much love,
    Anais Fourie
